The Lamar River 7/24/05

After staying in the mountains outside of Cooke city we head to the Lamar Canyon.

The Lamar River.

First cast.

My favorite kind of water.

Bill and one of the locals

These guy's are just hams.

Another one of the locals.

Jim joins in on the fun.

A view from above the Lamar river.

Yellowstone cutthroat.

A parachute hopper gets this one.

I had two fly's tied by Tom Tully who is no longer with us. When Tom died in an auto accident I set one fly aside to catch a fish for Tom when I got a chance. This was my chance so I tied the great big Green Drake Comparadun on and tossed the fly out for Tom.

I hooked this nice rainbow on the first cast. Thanks Tom this ones for you.

This time a muddler gets one.

And another.

Amazing what the water can do to these giant boulders.

The trusty muddler strikes again.

Looking up stream.

Another goes back to the water.

Another view.

Jim fishing a nice hole.

The Lamar valley.

Natures beauty... ends a great day of fishing.
