Fishing on the Lamar River Evening 9/7/04

While I was catching some nice fish brother Jim had scaled the cliff that was blocking my further progress up the river and was checking out the other side. I was satisfied in catching fish on my way back up to the trooper. After walking back out I picked up Jim on the road and we headed toward the upper section of our favorite river for the evening bite.

This one came to a variation of a Lafontaine pattern pictured below.

Aft Sparkle variation.

Hook - Size 16 dry fly

Thread - Brown

Front hackle - Brown

Aft hackle - White antron fibers

Body - Peacock

Tail - Tan paint brush fibers

Back to the water to fight again.

Big black spots.

This one was caught on the fly pictured below.

Sort of a Dark Cahill pattern.

Another nice one.

Not sure what this pattern is but it caught the trout in both the previous and next photo as well as a few others.

A look down at the river. Notice Jim fishing a hole on the left.

A sunset where the Buffalo roam. Don't get much better...

Stay tuned for tomorrows fishing...
