Canyon Creek, MT 9/12/04
Nothing left but the stone wall.

Old broken bottles.

|
We made camp along Canyon creek at what ended up being a cattle loading ramp. We saw the fire pit and decided to stop driving since it was dark by then. As it turned out the campground must have been just up the road because we could hear dogs and people occasionally. As it was getting dark on the way in we drove past some old kilns used in the late 1800's they looked spooky as they loomed in the darkness. We plan on driving back out the way we came in to get some photos of the kilns and other historical structures. But first we make a hot cup of coffee and explore the creek. By this time it is starting to rain a little. |
Camp

| Time head back down the road to look at some of the ruins and the kilns we passed the night before. The rain won't help the photography but at least it's not pouring besides we've been lucky this trip the weather has been great. |
