Salmon River 7-26-03
The Salmon River runs into the Queets River. The cutthroat pictured below was caught under the large log on the right.
A very brightly colored cutthroat. Just before being released.
Caddis cases piled high.
Another cutthroat. Hmm, could be the same as above. I only caught a couple fish but they were fun.
I fished the Queets without success so I figured I would head back south and try the North fork of the Quinault River.

North Fork Quinault River 7-26-03

Great fun...

The fish pictured below was caught in this hole. Wow what a great fighter! Jump after jump.

This nice rainbow fell victim to an angel hair muddler. Since these guys make it to the ocean is it a steelhead?

It's hard to get these guys to pose for a picture.

The net came in handy. But back to the river you go.

Mangled muddler. Maybe I should counter wrap these with wire... back to the tying table.

Another view.

Lots of small ones.

Yet another variation. It worked too.

Lots of nice places for fish to hold.

Some snacks on the hike out.

Quinault River. A view from the upper bridge. The end of a very nice day of fishing.
