Tim, Bill, Jim Montana Trip (Day 3)

7-22-06 The Lamar River Y.N.P., MT

& Camp 3 in the Beartooth Mountians

After fishing the Gardner river we head to Helen's for a buffalo burger lunch (this is a must do!)

We catch the evening bite on the Lamar river in the canyon... we love canyons.

After getting down to the river I quickly hook one on a huge stonefly or salmonfly pattern.

Now this is some fun! The trout are loving these big easy to see patterns fished in the fast water.

Tim on the Lamar River.

Tim points out that if you look close you are bound to see fish in these waters.

After the evening bite on the Lamar we drove up into the Beartooth mountains and found a place to camp for the night. We stayed at a familiar spot next to some old cabins and an old mining mill that we had been to in the years past. Here Jim gleefully tells us about his trout catching techniques.

Being very impressed by the story Bill listens attentively.

Tim with a large grin.

Tim captures what many would call ghostly orbs flying around camp and wisps of ghost spirits... hmmm, could be just cigarette smoke and dust.

But then Tim's cup started to glow.

As I lay in back of the truck I was laughing as all I could hear was the rummaging sounds of Tim & Jim exploring at night after a couple of drinks.

Tim lighting the way.

I was smiling at Tim & Jim the next morning.

Off we go...

to be continued...

Go Back...
